A sustainable Christmas present

Shops now have Christmas displays and Xmas Musak will soon be with us, so for many of us the pressure to buy gifts for family and others is beginning. But my grandchildren and I enjoy making a special present for family members – bulbs in pots. This year we planted dwarf daffodils and then put the pots outside to chill, which triggers flowering later on.

In Christmas week we will get them in, decorate the pots and make special Christmas cards to go with them. And we recycle the pots – after the flowers die down in the spring I get the pots back and clean them for next year – a truly sustainable present! Savages still have dwarf daffodil bulbs in stock- try it for yourself.
