COP25 … and the EU declares a climate emergency

The United Nations Climate Change (COP25) conference at Madrid started today with the UN Secretary General claiming that the planet is close to “the point of no return” and urging all countries to be more ambitious and to cut pollutant emissions, as this is the critical time to combat climate change. He said that important decisions must be taken now to limit emissions that cause the greenhouse effect.

Scientists report that levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have reached another new record high … and this afternoon the European Parliament declared a climate emergency .
