Sainsbury’s pledges £1bn to cut emissions to zero by 2040

I don’t mean this to be an advertisement for Sainsbury’s, but it is pretty impressive that they have said they will spend £1 billion to become carbon neutral by 2040, which is 10 years earlier than the official government target.

If you go to https://www.about.sainsburys.co.uk/netzero you will find all the details of what Sainsbury’s plan to do in their own businesses, and they also intend to work with their suppliers and ask them to commit to reducing their carbon emissions.

I’d like to know what the other big supermarket chains are doing. Anyone know?
