Masses of butterflies?

I’ve seen lots of butterflies in the last few days. Lots of large and small Whites and lemon coloured Brimstones in our back garden, and very exciting, at least 10 Marbled Whites on the slopes of Blewburton Hill yesterday.

I thought butterflies were meant to be becoming less common, but not this week. Have you seen many?

Have also seen the occasional Peacocks, Red Admirals, Fritillaries, Gatekeepers, Tortoiseshells, Orange Tips, etc in the garden.

  1. I saw a very small pale blue one yesterday along the path beside Palmers. Don’t know what it’s called but haven’t seen one before.
