Last BGM this year! (and only 2 more apple juicing sessions)

The last Blewbury Garden Market for this year is on Saturday 26th September (tomorrow), so it’s your last chance to sell your surplus produce or to buy some lovely fresh produce, preserves, home-made bread and pastries at the stall at Blewbury Garage.

The BGM stall is open for customers from 9.15 to 11.15 on Saturday morning.

Producers: please bring items for sale from 9.00 am. (You set your own prices and keep 90%. We keep 10% for our running expenses.)

And if you have a few surplus apples after this weekend, you can take them for juicing to Blewbury Manor Stables.

Apples waiting to be pressed!

Remaining dates are Sundays 4 and 18 October, 2 – 4 pm. Please bring apples prepared and ready to be juiced: wash windfalls, remove bad bits but there is no need to remove cores.

We can pasteurise your juice so it will keep for up to a year – for this you need your own glass screw-top wine or drink bottles but note that we can’t supply bottles. Pasteurisation takes a while, so if you would like us to do this, please arrive well before 3 pm.

You can also put juice into your own plastic bottles and freeze it. Costs: £1 per pressing (bucket or large basket of apples), pasteurising 30p per bottle.

If you have a lot of surplus apples, you can hire our equipment to use at home. This includes detailed instructions. Hiring costs £10 for 24 hours in Blewbury and Upton, £15 per day elsewhere. To book, or for more information, contact Eric at info@sustainable-blewbury.org.uk or 07935 232 296.
